This is how I painted one of my Garden series painting. Unfortunatelly, I have only this kind of photos, I forgot to take proper photo, when I finished and this Garden is on sale now in Vienna, Austria. So let´s have a look how I create some of my paintings.

1. Colours flow and I paint totally by actual imagination. No big planning, just playing on wet surface.

2. I have to wait until some parts are dry and I put other layers. Notice how I work with yellows on wet blues. This is one of my favourite combinations, reminds of stairy shiny sky,

3. Adding more colours - greens remind garden. The shades are done in my favourite Payne´s Grey.

4. More yellows, and green, all on wet paper.

5. More greens, yellow and turquoise. This painting gets definitelly garden look.

6. All done, I left it to dry. Unfortunatelly I did not take a proper photo of it and it is on sale in Vienna. I hope it will find someone happy to buy it.

In case of any technical questions, feel free to ask at www.zzen.deviantart.com, where I have profile and gallery. I will be happy to answer. Zuzana.

Yellow House

This is one of my older paintings - sketch was done plein air, later I added more colours in studio.
Three stages of my work indicate the way I paint with watercolours. I don´t do pencil sketch, I paint directly.
This house is located in Old Town in Bratislava, Slovakia.

1. stage: Main lines are sketched with Payne´s Grey,
later I added some more colours.

                                       2. stage: I added more colours and painted shades.

                                         3. stage: Finished painting.

Old Town in Bratislava - plein air + studio

This watercolour I painted partly plein air in the Bratislava Old Town. It is a view from Rudnayovo námestie (Rudnayovo Square) towards the stairs to St. Martin´s Cathedral. Then I took it home and finished it.

 1. That is how I finished it on the spot. I took it home and continued. I used mainly Payne´s Grey, some greens and ochres.

2. Later at home I added some more colours to it.
.

3. Finished painting.

When I paint at home during summer, I use my open air atelier, which is a big table on my balcony. Sometimes I work on few paintings at once. With watercolorous you have to watch, how dry is your paper, otherwise damage could be done easily.
